I am excited and humbled to have been selected as your Chief of Police for the beautiful and vibrant City of Pella. It is truly an honor to lead the women and men of one of the finest police departments in the nation. Your Pella Police Department has a long history of engaging citizens and visitors in meaningful discussion and problem-solving dialogue designed to provide transparency and solutions-based results. Our members are professional, knowledgeable, and most of all accountable. We understand the value of community trust and place a daily focus on building and maintaining the support of this community.

We hear you. We value you. Our mission is simple - we are here to serve you. We enthusiastically accept our mission of public service, and often realize crime-fighting is actually a small part of everything we do. I encourage our agency members to take the time to have real conversations with our residents and visitors. Likewise, I encourage members of the public to ask questions, be inquisitive, share concerns or just take time to chat. The members of the Pella Police Department are always willing to share their time with you.

We are never finished. We may accomplish our goals, complete vital projects, and experience great successes; however, there is always more and important work to be done. My commitment to the City of Pella includes constantly seeking improvements in quality of life, safety and security, and, above all, service to all members of this great community. Our Community

Pella is a city in Marion County, Iowa, located 40 miles southeast of Des Moines. Pella's population was 10,554 at the time of the 2021 U.S. Census. Founded by immigrants from the Netherlands, Pella is the home of Central College as well as several manufacturing companies including Pella Corporation and Vermeer Manufacturing Company.
