[ARCHIVED] Money Smart Week at the Library

For kids:
• April 21 at 7:00 p.m.: Crash Course in Starting a Business. Kids, join bankers from Marion County Bank as we discuss the steps to starting a business. Brainstorm an idea for a product or service business and put together a business plan with our step-by-step work sheet. Each young entrepreneur will have a chance to pitch their business plan to a commercial loan officer and receive feedback. Suggested for children in 3rd grade through 8th grade. Books will also be given to attendees. Sign up is needed; call the library to register.
• Great Piggy Bank Pageant. Pick up a piggy bank to decorate at home. Completed banks will be on display at the library and on The Great Piggy Bank Pinterest page. Banks will be available for pick up on April 6 and need to be returned by April 20. Supplies are limited.
For adults:
• April 25 at 1:30 p.m.: Couponing with Mary Potter Kenyon. Join us for this fun and informative program and discover insider secrets that will help you avoid paying full price for your favorite products. A prize basket will be given to one lucky winner!
• Dash for the Stash is a state-wide contest designed to help investors learn. To play, come to the library to find four posters. Read each poster, access the quiz questions and answer them. The statewide winner will be awarded $1,000 for a retirement investment account.
