[ARCHIVED] Summer Reading Program

Summer Reading for Kids
Dream Big @ the Pella Public Library will begin on Monday, June 4. Just pick up a reading log and start reading! Logs will be given out on Monday, June 4 starting at 10:00 a.m. Registration for programs will start on Monday, June 4 at 5:00 p.m. in the Story Time Room.

New this year, we will offer an early literacy program for parents with children 2 years old and younger. It’s never too early to start reading to your children!

In addition to the reading program, the library will offer morning and afternoon movies and story times. We also have some special programs planned:
Park Ranger Tracy Spry will present a program on nocturnal animals on Tuesday, June 26 at 10:30 a.m. This program is for children who have completed kindergarten and older.

IPTV’s Dan Wardell will once again come to Pella. Dan will be here on Monday, July 2 at 10:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. at the Joan Kuyper Farver Auditorium in the Community Center. Come see what Dan has dreamed up this year! Everyone is invited to attend.

Children who participate in the Summer Reading Program are invited to a pool party to end our program on Saturday, August 4 from 11:00 a.m. -12:00 noon at the Pella Aquatic Center.

Teen Summer Reading Program
Teens can participate in Own the Night @ the Pella Public Library by reading as many pages as they wish for entries to a drawing at the end of the program. Teens are invited to a night hike at Lake Red Rock on Tuesday, June 12.
