[ARCHIVED] TESTING OF THE CITY OF PELLA OUTDOOR WARNING SYSTEM HAS BEEN COMPLETED

TESTING OF THE CITY OF PELLA OUTDOOR WARNING SYSTEM HAS BEEN COMPLETED

The City of Pella has upgraded its outdoor warning system. To be in compliance with FCC regulations regarding narrow banding by the year 2013, all Pella outdoor warning system components have been upgraded and re-programmed.

In coordination with the National Weather Service Severe Weather Awareness Week, Pella Police Department will participate in the statewide tornado drill on Wednesday, April 4, 2012. Residents of Pella are encouraged to take this opportunity to familiarize themselves with the outdoor warning system tones, focusing on the site best suitable to monitor in the event of an actual warning.

Additionally, the Police Department will deviate from the normal first Saturday of the month testing of the outdoor warning system (May 5) to avoid confusion to Tulip Time visitors. The testing will be completed on Saturday, April 28 at noon.

For questions contact Pella Police Department Communications Supervisor Marcia Slycord at 628-4921 or mslycord@cityofpella.com.
