Qualifications

Below are the qualifications to be a City of Pella Police Officer:

• Two year college degree
• Must be a United States citizen
• Must be at least 18 years old
• Must have good moral character
• Have a valid driver’s license or the ability to obtain one
• Must be able to obtain an Iowa Professional Permit to carry weapons
• Must pass all nine steps of the testing process
• Uncorrected vision of 20/100 in both eyes
• Meet hearing standards
• Not opposed to use of force
• No record of assault, domestic abuse, stalking, weapons crime
