
Council Member Lynn Branderhorst is serving her second term on the Pella City Council representing Ward 1.
Lynn grew up in Pella and is a graduate of the Pella Community School System. She continued her education, receiving a BA in Elementary Education from Central College. Lynn has spent a vast majority of her career working in the not-for-profit world, serving as Executive Director to three different not-for-profit organizations. Lynn served as the Executive Director of the Historic Pella Trust from 2014 until 2017, when she left to devote her attention to the Pella small business she and her husband Nick own, Nick's Greenhouses and Flower Shop.
Lynn is currently the chairman of The Marion County Community Foundation and a member of the Central College President's Associates since 2010.
Lynn's current term expires December 31, 2025.
Family
Lynn is married to Nick Branderhorst and she has three children: Pete, Brad, and Betsy. In her spare time, Lynn enjoys gardening, collecting antiques, traveling, listening to music, and reading.
Goals
Council Member Branderhorst's goals for Pella include:
- Increasing Pella's inventory of new and affordable housing options.
- Finding ways to support Pella's small business community and industries.
- Improving services for the citizens of Pella, with a focus on enhancing life for our senior citizen community.
- Promoting Pella's Dutch heritage and unique history.
