Elections
City Clerk Responsibilities
Regular city elections are held every two years in the odd-numbered years. The City Clerk helps with city government elections and prepares an election packet that contains detailed instructions as well as the documents needed to file nomination papers.

Candidate Information
Candidates running for wards 1, 2, 3, or 4 must have 25 signatures from petitioners who are residents of the ward and who are qualified to register to vote in Iowa. Candidates for at-large seats or for the mayor seat must simply have 25 signatures from petitioners who are residents of Pella and who are qualified to register to vote in Iowa.
