Councilmember Mark De Jong, At Large
Councilmember Mark De JongBiography
Councilmember Mark De Jong is serving his tenth term on the Pella City Council. His service to the city began in January 1978. Councilmember De Jong holds a bachelor's degree from Drake University in business administration. He is the owner of De Jong Greenhouses in Pella.

Councilmember De Jong participates in the Society of Iowa Growers and his church’s teen ministry and is a member of the Board of Directors for the Society of American Florists. He has been awarded the Public Service Award by the Pella Chamber of Commerce.

Mark's current term expires January 1, 2018.

Family
Councilmember De Jong is married to his wife Mary, and they have two children - a daughter, Kriss, and a son, Craig. In his spare time, Councilmember De Jong enjoys golf, tennis, biking, and reading.
