Responsibilities
The City Planning and Zoning Commission, referred to as the commission, is an 11-member board and consists of seven city members and two members each from Marion and Mahaska Counties. The term of office of the members of the commission is five years. The commission reviews rezoning applications, subdivision plats, site plans, zoning and subdivision code amendments, and recommends approval and amendments for the comprehensive plan of the city.
